All about Submarines

This was a really fun and exciting project. It not only was educational in terms of school, but it was also very enlightening on a personal level. Learning how to put together Access board gave me new skills, and while was honing my teaching skills, I was also learning about new innovations in the world of the 'Silent Service'. I found that this particular project met NETS-T standards 1a,b, 2a,b, 3a, 5a.

We Be Jammin'

We Be Jammin’

A week in the Bahamas for our 1st wedding anniversary was just what the doctor ordered. We toured the isle of Freeport, and one of the smaller islands (called Cays, but pronounced key). While there we fished, shopped, went sighted seeing, spoke with many of the locals, and enjoyed the local cuisine. The fishing was done with just some bait, a hook, line, and sinker, and while I fished, my wife collected shells. Our shopping was limited to souvenirs for friends and ourselves. As we enjoyed the sights of white sandy beaches, old world churches, dolphins, and some of the local tourist trade, we had a chance to enjoy conversing with many of the locals, whom we found to be quite pleasant and respectful. As for the food, we were in heaven. For breakfast we had local fruit and juice, for the other meals we enjoyed several different dishes of conch (pronounced conk), a pork gyro, and chicken in a bag to name a few, to say everything was delicious would be an understatement. The only thing we did not like about our vacation was the fact that we had to leave. All in all, we would highly recommend going to Freeport, Bahamas.

Reflection

This was by far my most favorite assignment. It brought back memories of a really great vacation, and more than that, it gave me the chance to share some of it with others, sorry no souveneirs or food samples, but I did provide a few photos. There was so much to do, remember, and write about, but I was limited to how much content, so I did not go into great detail about trip itself. In doing this assignment I met NETS-T standards 1b, 2a, 3c, and 5a.

Lasers and more

This was an interesting project, because it forced me to think beyond what I have already accomplished. I have learned how to create a power point project that allows student interaction, which helps and inspires student learning. The project helps me develop digital learning techniques and experiences by designing the presentation. This presentation in itself helps students understand that technology is more a part of their everyday lives than they may have imagined. This project meets NETS-T standards 1,2,3,& 5. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I have.
